OpenAI follows Claude's membership benefits: giving away an equal amount of API credits each month, up to $500.
According to CoinWorld news, OpenAI has announced that it will give API credits to eligible ChatGPT Pro and Business users. Pro users can receive credits each month equal to the amount of one of three plans: $100, $200, or $500, while Business users are calculated by paid seat, with Standard at $20 per seat and Premium at $100 per seat, and the entire workspace can receive up to $500 per month. This benefit was not pioneered by OpenAI; Anthropic launched a similar policy for Claude Max and Team users as early as October 7, with Max 5x and 20x users able to receive $100 and $200 per month respectively, and Team also calculated by seat, up to $500. To receive the credits, a paid subscription must have been active for at least 7 days, and the account must be bound to one's own API organization. The first credit amount is prorated based on the remaining time in the current billing cycle, and afterward it is automatically issued with subscription renewals. Unused credits expire and are cleared at the end of the period and cannot be carried over. The gifted API credits can be used to call OpenAI's text, image, voice, and other models, but cannot be used to pay for Codex usage fees.
