More →GRVT Burns 1.1 Million Tokens as Countdown to Grvt 2.0 Begins
[PRESS RELEASE – Singapore, Singapore, October 20th, 2026] The discretionary buyback represents close to 1% of circulating supply and precedes four planned product milestones culminating in Grvt 2.0. >Grvt, a self-custodial trading platform built on its own zero-knowledge (ZK) chain, announced that the Foundation’s token issuer has completed its first GRVT token buyback, purchasing and burning 1.1 million GRVT tokens on the open market. The transaction permanently removed close to 1% of GRVT’s circulating supply at the time of purchase. It marks the first of five milestones ahead of the planned launch of Grvt 2.0 at the end of November 2026. A Discretionary Buyback with On-Chain Verification The Foundation’s token issuer intends to conduct further buybacks on a monthly basis. Each transaction remains entirely at the issuer’s discretion, with no predetermined purchase amount or guaranteed schedule. Buybacks are executed through an independent execution partner, with purchased tokens transferred to a designated burn address and permanently removed from circulation. The transactions can be independently verified through the >public buyback dashboard, which records the number of tokens purchased and burned, the percentage of circulating supply represented, cumulative burns and on-chain transaction hashes. “The GRVT token is an important part of the ecosystem we are building,” said Hong, co-founder and CEO of Grvt. “We welcome the issuer’s buybacks as a demonstration of its long-term commitment to the ecosystem and community. Grvt is expanding its products and markets, and the issuer’s buybacks sit alongside that as a supportive mechanism aimed at reducing circulating token supply.” Grvt Outlines Four Product Milestones The announcement follows GRVT’s token generation event in July 2026 and precedes a series of planned launches. Grvt Earn, scheduled for the End of October, will introduce yield opportunities backed by tokenized assets, with target yields of up to 11%. Potential returns are expected to derive from underlying asset cash flows, including interest, premiums and invoice-related income. Asset-supplying partners will be announced at launch. Target yields are not guaranteed. Stable Funding Perps, scheduled for November, will introduce perpetual futures linked to commodities, stocks, foreign exchange and indices. The contracts are planned to carry zero trading fees and use once-daily funding. Grvt aims to list more than 1,000 markets by the end of December 2026. Yield as Margin, also scheduled for November, will allow eligible Grvt Earn balances to support trading positions while continuing to accrue yield, subject to applicable product terms
OpenAI Buys Orchestra Bio to Put AI Agents in Charge of Drug Development Grunt Work
OpenAI has bought Orchestra Bio, a San Francisco startup whose AI agents help drug companies keep sprawling development programs on schedule, the ChatGPT maker >announced Tuesday. “Our goal is to help scientists make discoveries and manage the work needed to turn them into treatments that reach patients sooner,” OpenAI said in the announcement. Orchestra’s team and platform will be folded into >Rosalind, OpenAI’s family of AI models and tools for biologists and chemists. The financial terms were not disclosed. Getting a new medicine from first idea to U.S. approval takes time—up to 15 years according to OpenAI. Every month shaved off that timeline is a month earlier that a new treatment can reach the people waiting for it, and a month earlier that the company can generate cash. The process is also absurdly expensive: bringing one approved drug to market can cost more than >$2.6 billion, and fewer than 10% of candidates that enter human testing ever make it to pharmacy shelves. Beyond the science itself, OpenAI says drug teams have to coordinate work across internal departments and outside partners, often relying on systems that don’t talk to each other. Those partners usually include contract research organizations, the outside labs hired to run studies, and contract manufacturers that produce the experimental drug. Orchestra’s AI agents—software that can watch over tasks and flag problems on its own—work out which activities and deadlines take the hit, gather the relevant information and compare ways to respond, while scientists and program leaders make the final call. Founded in the fall of 2022, Orchestra raised its >seed round from Andreessen Horowitz, Definition Capital, Insight Partners, and 8VC, and about $20 million in total, according to Caplight data. The company should not be confused with Orchestra BioMed, an unrelated Nasdaq-listed medical device maker that trades under the ticker OBIO. In April, OpenAI launched GPT-Rosalind, a model built specifically for biology and dru

Gradium open-sources an ultra-small speech model: only 64MB of weights, it can speak even with a phone offline.
Gradium has made a major announcement with the open-source release of Phonon, an ultra-small speech model whose weights are only 64MB and which can run on a phone without an internet connection. The model began private testing in April this year with about 100 million parameters. This time, 31 million and 40 million parameter versions have been launched, and the model weights have been made public for the first time. The q8 weights of the 31 million parameter English version are only 64MB, and it can run on an ordinary CPU. The 40 million parameter version supports five languages: English, French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese, and is available as both single-language models and a five-language combined model. Gradium disclosed that Phonon takes only 7.5 milliseconds to generate the first audio segment on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with synthesis speed reaching 24 times real time. In terms of sound quality, the 31 million parameter English version scored 2098 elo, 3.5% lower than another 82 million parameter open-source speech model, Kokoro. The model has already been integrated into tools such as Ollama and MLX-Audio, and partner Xybrid achieved real-time dialogue for a 3D game character on a 16GB M1 Pro MacBook.

Darkfost: Binance's stablecoin reserves fall to their lowest level in nearly a year.
Crypto analyst Darkfost, citing data from Biji Network: Binance's current ERC-20 stablecoin reserves stand at approximately $41.6 billion, falling back to levels last seen in early October 2025. Since April 2026, Binance's stablecoin reserves have decreased by about $6.3 billion, with a market cap change of roughly -4.7% over the past 90 days and average monthly stablecoin net outflows of about $62 million. Over the same period, stablecoin reserves at Bybit, Coinbase Advanced, and OKX fell by approximately $2.3 billion, $2.5 billion, and $2.4 billion, respectively. Binance currently holds more than 70% of stablecoin reserves across all exchanges. Darkfost believes the decline in exchange stablecoin liquidity reflects investors' caution about increasing exposure to crypto assets, with some funds shifting to other platforms in pursuit of yield.
