Ripple expands Brevan Howard deal with prime brokerage services

Ripple Prime will provide prime brokerage, clearing and financing services to funds managed by the $35 billion alternative investment manager. Ripple Prime will provide multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing services to funds managed by Brevan Howard, a global investment manager with about $35 billion in assets. Under the expanded agreement, Brevan Howard will gain access to Ripple Prime’s services across traditional and digital asset markets, according to a Tuesday announcement. The deal builds on an existing relationship between the firms. Brevan Howard-affiliated funds participated in a $500 million investment in Ripple in 2025 that valued the company at $40 billion. “As digital and traditional markets become more interconnected, the need for institutional-quality digital asset infrastructure that enables a seamless experience for investors is only growing,” Brevan Howard chief operating officer Alan McGroarty said. The investment manager serves global clients including sovereign wealth funds, corporate and public pension plans, foundations and endowments. The agreement comes as Ripple expands its prime brokerage business. In August, Ripple Prime raised $275 million through a senior note offering to fund its expansion into prime brokerage, financing and multi-asset clearing. Ripple launched the business after acquiring prime broker Hidden Road for about $1.25 billion in 2025. Magazine: Too big to pause: Could an AI slowdown crash the economy?

Temasek International's Chief Investment Officer Rohit Sipahimalani pointed out

Temasek International's Chief Investment Officer Rohit Sipahimalani pointed out that as global markets head into next year, the two main risks they face are: the AI-related investment boom may reverse, and inflation pushing up bond yields, which could in turn end the stock market's upward momentum. He said: "The fading of the AI investment boom is the biggest risk. We think it won't happen immediately, but there may be some turbulence in 2027." Another major issue is "concerns about inflation." He said: "Inflation is a risk, and combined with changes in the interest rate environment, this means the stock market may at some point be at risk of hitting a certain critical threshold." He believes that this, together with the AI issue, constitutes the "two key risks for 2027" that he foresees.

Jan Van Eck: Faster nuclear power approvals are good for AI and Bitcoin.

According to news from Bijie, Vaneck CEO Jan Van Eck said that approving more nuclear power projects could boost both AI and Bitcoin at the same time, and that nuclear power provides miners with cheap energy, which can ease Bitcoin selling pressure. Both U.S. parties support nuclear energy, with the goal of quadrupling nuclear power output within 25 years. Matthew Sigel, Vaneck's head of digital asset research, said miners have undervalued optionality, and if miners shift to AI contract revenue, Bitcoin selling pressure will be reduced.
