Tereina and Circle said they plan to test the stablecoin integration with customers over the coming months, including for global payments and treasury operations. SAP’s ecosystem generates 84% of global commerce, according to the announcement, giving the integration a potentially broad enterprise reach. The move comes less than a month after Circle launched the mainnet of Arc, its layer-1 blockchain focused on stablecoin payments and financial markets. The shift of U.S. SEC regulatory power to Republicans may accelerate crypto rulemaking.

Coin World News: With Hester Peirce officially leaving the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 2, the agency now has only two commissioners left, and regulatory power has shifted to the Republican Party. Previously, Democratic commissioners Jaime Lizárraga and Caroline Crenshaw had also departed, while current Chair Paul Atkins and Commissioner Mark Uyeda are both Republicans. Atkins was nominated by Trump, and Uyeda had been appointed by Trump as acting chair before Atkins was confirmed. This change marks a major shift from the Gary Gensler era, which was widely seen as hostile to the crypto industry. The smaller Atkins-Uyeda pairing may move faster on tokenization, custody, ETFs, and clearer crypto rules.

New York Fed: Inflation in many everyday consumer goods is entirely driven by tariffs.

New York Fed: Inflation in many everyday consumer goods is entirely driven by tariffs. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York says that without the tariff policies introduced by U.S. President Donald Trump, prices for a large number of everyday consumer goods would have fallen from last year through early this year. In a paper, the research team at the New York branch of the Federal Reserve said that as of February, prices for 67 categories of goods were 2.9 percentage points higher because of tariffs. The research team found that without these tariffs, the prices of the goods studied would have fallen by nearly 1%. The team said that for every 1 percentage point increase in the average tariff rate, consumer goods prices rise by about 0.25 percentage points after one year. The report shows that among the dozens of categories of goods it tracked, annual price increases peaked in early 2026. However, due to the delayed effects of this policy, consumers are still expected to face high prices in 2027.
